Lewis Wilks is a Managing Director in the Public Finance Group of U.S. Capital Advisors. He works in public finance consulting providing advice to school districts, public facility corporations and other local governments in Texas. Mr. Wilks has participated in the municipal finance field since 1989, with extensive knowledge in school finance and investment issues. Mr. Wilks has served as Financial Advisor to more than 90 school districts, public facility corporations and other local governments in Texas and has served as Investment Banker on over $13 billion of municipal bond transactions since 1998.
Prior to joining U.S Capital Advisors, Mr. Wilks spent 15 years at Coastal Securities. Prior to that Mr. Wilks served at the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB), where he was the Division Director of Financial Services for 7 years. While at TASB, Mr. Wilks was responsible for the development and management of several innovative financing and investment programs designed specifically for Texas school districts and other local governments including: the Lone Star Investment Pool, and several pooled financings programs. During his tenure at TASB, Mr. Wilks worked directly with more than 100 school districts, closing over $350 million in short-term municipal finance issues and guided the growth of the Lone Star Investment Pool to over $2.5 billion in assets.
Mr. Wilks has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from Abilene Christian University, as well as FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 licenses.
